Positron Scattering from the Group IIB Metals Zinc and Cadmium: Recommended Cross Sections and Transport Simulations

نویسندگان

چکیده

Results from the application of our optical potential and relativistic models to positron scattering gas-phase zinc (Zn) cadmium (Cd) are presented. In particular, integral cross sections (ICSs) for elastic scattering, positronium formation, summed discrete electronic-state excitation, ionization processes reported both species over an extended incident energy range. From those ICSs, total section is subsequently constructed by taking their sum. We note that there currently no experimental data available any these either species, with earlier computational results being limited channel restricted relatively narrow regimes. Nonetheless, we construct recommended datasets range 0–10 000 eV. The employed in a multi-term Boltzmann equation analysis simulate transport positrons, under influence applied (external) electric field, through background Zn Cd gases. Qualitatively similar behavior calculated coefficients was observed between species. Finally, case zinc, present compared against corresponding electron some significant differences now observed.

the relationship between learners critical thinking ability and their performance in the reading sections of the tofel and ielts test

the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...

Crosstalk of the group IIa and IIb metals calcium and zinc in cellular signaling.

L ife has harnessed the functional potential of many metal ions and thereby bridged the boundaries between organic and inorganic chemistry. A case in point here is zinc, which is essential for growth and development. As a constituent of proteins, zinc performs critical cellular functions (1). Its great versatility in catalysis is used in hundreds of enzymes of all six classes (2). In zinc finge...

Low energy positron interactions with uracil--total scattering, positronium formation, and differential elastic scattering cross sections.

Measurements of the grand total and total positronium formation cross sections for positron scattering from uracil have been performed for energies between 1 and 180 eV, using a trap-based beam apparatus. Angular, quasi-elastic differential cross section measurements at 1, 3, 5, 10, and 20 eV are also presented and discussed. These measurements are compared to existing experimental results and ...

Total cross sections for positron scattering on argon and krypton at intermediate and high energies

Preliminary total cross section data for positron scattering on argon and krypton between 250 and 5000 eV are presented. A Ramsauer-type apparatus, previously used for electron-scattering measurements has been modified. To check for the convergence between electron and positron total cross sections, a semiempirical analysis has been applied. The analysis for argon indicates an asymptotic conver...

Electron scattering from pyrazine: elastic differential and integral cross sections.

We report on new measurements for elastic electron scattering from pyrazine. Absolute differential cross sections (DCSs) at seven discrete energies in the range 3-50 eV, and over the scattered electron angular range 10°-129°, were determined using a crossed electron-molecular beam spectrometer in conjunction with the well-established relative flow technique. Integral elastic cross sections were...
